ABOUT US

Our mission is to facilitate the development, awareness and promotion of textile-based skills in Wales.

Founded in Gwynedd, North Wales, Tecstiliau is a not-for-profit organisation created by a small group interested in facilitating the textile arts as part of the cultural heritage of Wales. In doing so, we are aiming to provide physical ‘space’ for textile-based activities to occur but also provide a cultural ‘space’ to accentuate the importance of textile arts in Wales.

Our key objectives are associated with creating a community centred on textile-based activities such as spinning, weaving, dyeing, embroidery and other such textile-based arts and crafts alongside the promotion of
Welsh textile-based makers, our key objectives are to:

·       Provide opportunities for the development of textile-based skills

·       Increase awareness of textile-based industries in Wales

·       Promote Welsh textile-based makers.

·       Provide a space for increased personal well-being.
