Come and learn how to transform the stems of flax into beautiful fibre and spin it into linen yarn.

If you are considering having a go at growing your own flax this is an excellent opportunity to learn about processing your crop.

The day will include:

• An Introduction to Flax
• Demonstration and practice of processing techniques like: rippling, scutching, hackling
• Making a cone distaff
• Spinning on a drop spindle

No experience necessary, you just need enthusiasm for flax!

All materials and equipment will be supplied.

Please bring your own: face mask (processing flax can be very dusty), apron, pen and notebook.

If you are a spinner you are welcome to bring your spinning wheel.
